The Wondrous Woodrat: Mice & Moles, Shrews & Voles & Gophers in Holes
About
A lively class for kids on how packrats build their big, long-lasting houses and whether their often-unloved relatives deserve a better reputation, taught by naturalist and author Linda Hawley with songs, puppets, pelts, skulls, scat and tracks, plus a den-building craft (bring a handful of tiny twigs). It runs Saturday 7 November, 2:30pm to 4pm, in an air-conditioned studio at Grant Park, 2310 Camino Del Rio N, Mission Valley. It is free for ages 4 to 10 with an adult, with about 18 places left when listed. The foundation's free bird walk at the same park follows on 15 November.
