A single session, usually about two hours, where an instructor shows you how to center clay on the wheel (or build by hand) and you make one to three pieces. No course to sign up for and no membership; most are built for people who have never touched clay.
The catch: you don’t take the piece home that night. The studio dries it, fires it, glazes it (or invites you back to glaze) and fires it again, and it’s ready to collect about two to four weeks later. If you’re only in town for a few days, ask about shipping before you book.

How we checked
For each location a person read the studio’s own site or booking page. Online kits are left out.
We copy the price the studio publishes, say when it came from a booking site, and never guess one.
No studio pays to be listed or to move up. Missing a studio? Email us a link to its own page.
