Watercolor 201: Beginner

About

An entry-level watercolor course covering basic brush techniques, color mixing and how transparent paint behaves, with students developing their own pieces rather than copying the teacher and earning a certificate at the end; it is open to ages 7 and up and expects a prior drawing or oil pastel class. A new four-session section (about an hour each) starts every week, with Friday sections from 6:45 to 7:45pm at the Pastimes for a Lifetime studio, 13615 Burbank Blvd in Van Nuys, and other weekly start slots on Tuesday at 4pm, Wednesday at 5:30pm, Thursday at 7pm and Saturday at 9 and 10am. Each four-session section costs $192 through CourseHorse. The school's other in-studio courses include charcoal, pen and ink, oil pastel and acrylic painting.
