Visiting artist Dane Nakama teaches mishima, the centuries-old inlay technique of carving designs into leather-hard clay and filling them with contrasting slip; previous hand-building experience is required. The listing gives Thursday, Dec 10 and Friday, Dec 11, from 7 to 9pm both evenings, at Green & Bisque Clayhouse, 1563 N Lake Ave, Pasadena, with $90 tuition. There is free parking in the studio lot and on nearby streets. Nakama's all-levels Shisa workshop follows that weekend.
