Propagating California Native Plants from Seed
About
Genevieve Arnold, who runs the foundation's seed and conservation program, teaches cool-season seed propagation of California natives, from seed biology, viability and germination cues to pretreatment, sowing and aftercare, with a tour of the seed facilities. Each participant goes home with a kit of flats, pots, plug trays, ten cool-season species, tags and a guide, plus the seeds they sowed in class. It runs Friday, Nov 13 from 9:30am to 12:30pm, partly outdoors, at the Theodore Payne Foundation, 10459 Tuxford St, Sun Valley; register through Humanitix, where the listing doesn't publish a price. Obi Kaufmann speaks at the foundation that afternoon.
