Riso Workshop: Holiday Cards
About
Print a set of 20 holiday cards on the risograph, with some experiments on the scanner bed along the way. Junko Okada-Brown teaches it from 6:30 to 9:30pm on Friday, December 11, at Lillstreet Art Center, 4401 N Ravenswood Ave near the Montrose Brown Line. It costs $130 ($125 members) plus a $20 materials fee.

New to printmaking?
Printmaking classes cover ways of making an image you can print more than once: carving lino or wood blocks, screen printing, monotypes, etching or letterpress.
- Block printing and monotype are the friendliest starts; etching and letterpress need more studio time.
- Inks stain. Wear old clothes and expect to wash up at the end.
- You usually leave with an edition of several prints, not just one.
Taking it home: Usually the same day, once the ink is dry enough to carry. Oil-based prints may need a few days.
