National Aids Memorial Quilt Repair and Panel Making

About

The National AIDS Memorial runs a drop-in session in the Steve Silver Music Center on the 4th floor of the Main Library, 100 Larkin Street (Civic Center BART/Muni), where volunteers help mend AIDS Memorial Quilt panels and can start a new panel for a loved one. It runs noon–4 pm on Saturday, Nov 7 (and again Dec 5), and it's free with no registration needed. Sewing machines, paints, stencils and thread are provided, and no sewing experience is required. It's a rare chance to work directly on the Quilt, whose original panels were first sewn in San Francisco.
