Explorer Hike: Wintertime Traditions
About
An out-and-back of about 4.5 miles with only 200 feet of gain along the Chestnut Trail from Long Ridge into Skyline Ridge, passing a chestnut orchard and conifers while docents talk about holiday customs tied to chestnuts and evergreens. It runs Wednesday, Dec 2, 10:30 am–2:30 pm, from the Peters Creek roadside parking on Skyline Boulevard, led by Kate Bauer, Nick Yatsko and Mary Brunkhorst. Bring lunch; Midpen doesn't publish a price on the listing.
